Description:

 Actively growing plants need nitrogen. Blood meal is an age-old, natural source of readily available nitrogen that’s as effective today as it was in our grandparents’ time. Blood meal is an excellent starter fertilizer for fruiting plants such as tomato, eggplant, squash, and melons. Many organic gardeners use blood meal to side dress heavy feeders such as corn, spinach, broccoli, and leafy green vegetables. Blood Meal 13-0-0 formulation is a concentrated source of nitrogen that also supports soil microorganisms that help keep soils and plants healthy.

Direction of Use:

Vegetable Gardens:

To prepare new gardens, apply 1 kg per 100 square feet and thoroughly mix into the top 3″ of soil. For new transplants, add 1 tsp per hole, mix into soil and water in well. To feed established plants, side dress 1-2 tsp, depending on size of plant and desired growth rate, once each month during the growing season.

Outdoor Containers:

For new plantings, add 1-2 tsp per gallon of soil and mix thoroughly. To feed established plants, lightly mix 1 tsp per gallon into the soil surface once each month during the growing season.
